  8. In 2021 February 26 to 28, IWFNEI organized a training session on Indigenous Perspective on Human Rights and Organizational structure cum General assembly, at Don Bosco Training Centre, Dimapur. Sponsored by AIPP.
  9. Due to Covid 19 we could not plan any activities from March 2021 till 2022 April, but we were able to attend several zoom meetings throughout the Lock down period. One such zoom meeting called by AIPP which IWFNEI members joined on May 27, 2021
  10. In May 2022, 20 to 25, Abole Jeme, Khesheli Chishi and Elizabeth Imti attended NIWA Exchanged Program at Bangkok , Thailand. Then, again from May 27 to 29 the three also attended Advocacy and Media Training at the same place.

  1. IWFNEI organized strengthening Key leaders consultation on 8th August, 2022 at DBIL, Dimapur. Sponsored to AIPP.
  2. IWFNEI in collaboration with AIPP units of the North East India observed the IP day on 9 August, 2022 held in DBIDL. This event was jointly sponsored by AIPP and NIWA.

  1. January 20 to 24, 2023 IWFNEI, under the AYNI/AIWN Project organized training on CEDAW with special reference to GR 39 cum General Assembly at Pastoral Centre at Shillong, Meghalaya.

  1. IWFNEI took up Project on “Strengthening of IWFNEI member organizations through Expansion, Formation of new units, and Revival of dormant units in Assam”. Under this project, IWFNEI members visited and revived the units in Diphu, Karbi Anglong, Assam on August 8 and 9, 2023 ; to Goalpora on 16 to 18 October, 2023 to revive ties with Rabha Women; on November 27 to 29, 2023 to Jagi Road, Assam and strengthen ties with the Tiwa Women Organization. The project was sponsored by AIPP.

  1. IWFNEI took up another Project under Pawanka titled “Organizational Strengthening” – various activities were taken up for Expansion, Strengthening and revival and Formation of new member organizations’. Accordingly various activities were under taken.

Activity 1

IWFNEI officials visited Tura, Meghalaya and met with Mother’s Union from 26 to 28 November, 2023. There was a cordial meeting which brought understanding and unity in purpose by meeting with each other issues. The Mother’s Union have decided to affiliate with IWFNEI.

IWFNEI Officials further met with Hajong women Association in dispur guwahati from 6 to 8 june , 2024. The women wee eenthusiastic to connect and pursue the common issues and concern of IP Grassroot women.

Thereafter, IWFNEI officials visited agartala Tripura from 23 to 26 july and met with Borok women’s Forum, Tripura. Through sharing of the issues and concern of Borok women and IWFNEI’s activities, it was possible to build solidarity and stronger understanding .

Activity 2

IWFNEI organized a three days Training program – Leadership Training on Emerging Indigenous Identity and feminist perspective and digital strengthening and financial operation. The Program of the training was held from 1st to 5th April, 2024 at Inspiration Building, Kharguli, Guwahati. Dr. Achan Mungleng, an experienced Trainer was the Resource Person. Women were imparted leadership training to develop skills and enhance the capacity of Women Organizations and to strengthen solidarity and build stronger networking for Indigenous – centric approach to women’s issues in North East India.

IWFNEI organised the two days training program on sustainable livelihood with primary focus on seed preservation and seed exchange of seeds among the member organization and Capital Intellectual Property rights with special reference to geographical indication (emphasizing Indigenous weaving – handlooms and textiles). The Resource Person, Dr. Achan Mungleng refers to sustainable livelihood as a holistic way of life that enables communities to meet their needs without jeopardising the ability of future generation to do the same. She spoke on the practices of preserving seeds in supporting biodiversity and sustaining traditional agricultural practices. She spoke on how Capital Intellectual rights can protect traditional knowledge and cultural heritage through legal frameworks ensuring that Indigenous craftsmanship and unique regional product receive due recognition and protection against misappropriation.
